RFID users say no privacy law needed

"... With the potential to use RFID chips in passports and other government identification, as well as consumer products such as clothing, the misuse of RFID tracking raises 'seriously Orwellian concerns,' (R-IL Jan Schakowsky) said.

'Soon we could have Big Brother and big business tuning into the same frequency, where not only will they know where you are, but what you're wearing,' Schakowsky added. "

You know... As both a Libertarian and Security conscious Network Engineer, I laud Ms. Schakowsky's ferver on this topic. Yet, I still wonder where it was when I personally pointed out (to Ms. Schakowsky, and her IL-based peers) that the U.S. Government and its various sub-contractors were violating EEO by requiring pre-existing security clearances for IT-based job opportunities, a condition that no individual can resolve on their own (you can't get one on your own, the employer has to apply for you, and that can take up to 18 months to acquire). Makes you wonder about her priorities.

You can find more on this on my regular Blog, or here: The clue bus..., and Evidence my Congresswoman has missed the 'Clue Bus'
