Band's lyrics cut in Webcast -- chicagotribune.com

Where I'm from, it is often said that you "dance with the one that brung ya'". In this same light, it is of little surprise that people often presume that politicians who fund campaigns with corporate donations will invariably wind up in bed with and favoring those who made their victory possible.

But in an interesting turn of events, AT&T, the world's largest telecommunications provider, has been put in a less than glowing spotlight, having been associated with the censoring some of anti-Bush rhetoric from the rock band Pearl Jam at Chicago's recent Lallapalooza festival in AT&T controlled internet webcasting. Subsequent information has also revealed that Pearl Jam wasn't the only act that was censored. AT&T pleads 'mea culpa', and says it was a contracted service that actually performed the censoring. Even if that's true, like politicians, it's time to remember that they're the ones that brought them to the dance.
